New Album Project

I finally finished this album for one of my dearest friends. Her son is graduating in June and will be going off to college in the fall.

I made this album using Paper Hoarder Disorder's Graphic 45 Typography 9x9 Flip-It Album tutorial.

My crafting mojo was failing me until I made a trip to Indianapolis Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival.  While there I found some incredible inspiration from Local King Rubber StampsSweet Stamps and Endless Creations  Check out my latest creation...

I also have to let you all know that I added some mega crafting organization to my world.  While at the Indy Stamp Festival, I purchased a few pieces of shelving from Stamp-n-Storage.  It really does make my crafting flow a bit easier.  Before, I had all of my inks in clear, plastic shoe boxes. Now......perfection!

Thanks to Jennifer McGuire I found the refrigerator bin for storing my stamps.  I'm loving this and hope to add a few pieces later.

So, once Judy's Joyful Journey craft space was cleaned up and organized, I was able to create a few cards.  I hope that I can keep it this clean.......{wishful thinking}......

I will be crafting away and hope to update you all to my progress a little more frequently.  Always take some time to create a thing of beauty!

New Stamps

It has been forever, well since July anyway, that I've had a chance to write a post, I just had to tell you all about the cutest stamps that I've ever seen.  They come from the Stamping Bella website and I absolutely adore these.  For those of you who know anything about me, you know I have a love affair with all things poultry.  I can't help it, I love chickens.  My family will only allow me to use them as a decorating theme in the kitchen though.  So I have to find a way to use them in other ways.   Feast your  eyes on this super cute stamp!

Absolutely ADORABLE!!!  I colored them with a few Copic Markers and am pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  I'm not great with the markers but I wanna be.

Stamping Bella  just release a bunch of new stamps today and I just couldn't help myself.  You have got to check these out!

Long Time No See

Hey Ya'll

It's been a long time since I've put anything out but please know that I have been very busy.......haven't we all?

My daughter has been to so many tournaments in the past 6 months we are all exhausted, but not more than her.  She is currently on a much needed break until the middle of July when her high school field hockey season starts....I am so proud of her!  She has worked so hard this year and really deserves the break.

Our next adventure began in the last couple of weeks, we started looking at colleges!  WOW!  I can't believe that in 24 short months, my baby will begin a new chapter in her life.  It's all so exciting and scary!  We took a tour of Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.  In December we will be traveling to the Northeast, where she will be touring Columbia University.  Before that we will be visiting Murray State University to check out their Pre-Vet program....decisions, decisions....any of those schools would be great but I'm pretty sure we will be adding a few more before all is said and done.  It is good to have choices!

Anyway, let me share with you some of the projects I have been working on in the last 6 months and I'll also let you know what I have planned for the upcoming year.  So many projects, so little time..So to begin, I created a new mini album as a retirement gift for our varsity field hockey coach.

This album was put together quickly but not without a lot of thought and love.  I really wish my daughter would have been able to play under this spectacular coach and mentor.  She will be greatly missed.

My next project was/is a baby album.   I can't tell you who it is for because it is a surprise!  But it turned out awesome!.  I have to thank Christine from Paper Hoarder Disorder for the tutorial on the Mother Goose Album.  It turned out better than I expected!

I have several other pictures of this album.  If you are interested, let me know and I can send them to you.

Then in between all of the cratfting and toting my daughter around I found the time to get my vegetable garden into the ground.  If  I can keep the squirrels and rabbits out of it, I might actually be able to harvest something this year!

Compared to last year, I'm doing great!.  I found a product called @ShakeAway that is amazing and has kept the nasty squirrels away from all of my produce!  WooHoo.!  Last year the little "darlings" ate absolutely everything that came up out of the ground.  This year I've actually been able to eat some of the fruits of our labor.

On to my most recent project.  I created a portfolio type album for my niece and though I had a hard time with the papers, I finally came to love this quick and easy "folio"

My favorite photo bomb girl!

I have a whole list of project to work on this summer and hope that I will be able to keep the blog up to date.  Thanks for looking!

Life is so Busy!

Things have been so hectic lately in my household.  I don't know if you all are aware of this, but my DH had a full shoulder replacement at the end of September.  He is doing remarkably well and I hope that he will be 100% by the beginning of the new year.  I had knee surgery on October 24 and am recovering quickly.  It just never stops around this place!  I wouldn't have it any other way.

I was asked to make a mini album for a beautiful young lady that plays field hockey with my daughter.  I haven't made one in several months and was so ready to jump back into the creative journey.  Then....(huge sobs) I was informed that Sacred Heart Academy's head field hockey coach was retiring this year. I was absolutely floored and so upset that I couldn't even begin to think straight.

When we started looking for a high school for my daughter to attend, academics were first and foremost in our minds.  However, you do have to take in to consideration the quality of people that will be coaching your children in the sports that they choose to play.  Coach Lewis is a wonderful coach and a determined individual.  She is also someone that I would entrust my daughter to.  I am sorry that my daughter will not have the opportunity to play for Coach Lewis at the varsity level. Coach Lewis would have instilled in her the the characteristics of good sportsmanship, pride, love of the game, teamwork, camaraderie  and perseverance  She takes her field hockey seriously but she also strives to create women of great faith by model these same qualities.

I hope that Coach Lewis enjoys her retirement and finds peace in all things. Our family will miss her leadership greatly. Best wishes to you in all that you do Coach Lewis.

So with all of that going on, I thought:  What can I do to show my appreciatation for this wonderful coach?  A mini album, of course.  So now I have to have two albums complete on the same day.

I just love a challenge!

I can't really post pictures of a "surprise" work in progress but I can show you a project I made for my daughter's varsity buddy.  I made a "portfolio" style photo album last week and I was thrilled with how it turned out!

As usual, I would appreciate to hear what you all think of it.

I do have to works in process and will post those when they have been complete and given to their respective owners.

One Sheet Wonder Results

I started working on my One Sheet Wonder Cards from my class with Jessica Taylor @inkitup on Facebook. These are some of the cards from Template #4.

I really am enjoying this class and just found out that Jessica will be offering another one just for Christmas cards.  That should be fun.  If you didn't get in on this class, you should certainly try for the next.  It really is a great way to create beautiful cards really fast!

Back to Crafting!

Things are beginning to get back to almost "normal" in our household.  My husband is recovering very well from his shoulder replacement and is on the road to fully using his arm again without pain.  Yeah!

So......guess what?  I got to do some crafting!  Yippeeeee!  First up?  My daughter need a good luck gift for one of her field hockey buddies for a tournament she was in this week.  This is what I came up with.

We filled it up with caramels and Hersey Hugs.  If it doesn't sugar her up with energy, it should quell the chocolate cravings later on.  :)

Anyway, with that one done, on to my One Sheet Wonder Class @inkitup that I have totally bailed on!  I've been so busy with life that I haven't had time to participate in this class like I had hoped.  I did manage to start on Template #4 today to try get a start on Christmas Cards.  I need to do quite a few for @opwritehome and I want to make a stack for @jenmcguireink  Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Once those cards are done, I am going to go back to working on all of my mini albums that I have yet to finish.  I started the Back to Basic Albums with Kathy Orta @PaperPhenomenon several months ago.  I finished with the storage box and the first album.  I about half way done with album 2 and I look forward to getting back into the albums.  So many pictures to crop, recipes to save and just lovin' getting my create on!

Alright.  As always I appreciate any feedback or comments.  Thanks for looking.
